Designing a Refreshing Image for a Renowned Malaysian Brand

Inspired by the water element and the initials of the founder's name, designer Shawn Goh Chin Siang has created a corporate identity that leaves a profound first impression on consumers. With its clean and minimalist style, the Water Funs logo stands out among its competitors, attracting younger consumers and upgrading the brand's image.

Water Funs, a renowned brand in Pahang state, Malaysia, has undergone a rebranding process to modernize its image and appeal to a younger demographic. Designer Shawn Goh Chin Siang took on the challenge of creating a corporate identity that reflects the brand's commitment to high-quality water products and its adherence to strict regulations.

The logo design incorporates the initials of the word "water" and the name of the founder, Adam, in a simplistic format. The letters W and A are seamlessly integrated into the logo, emphasizing the brand's connection to the water element, which is essential for the formation of life.

One of the unique features of this design is the inclusion of three different wave patterns, each representing a different aspect of the brand. These patterns are used across various items and products, creating a cohesive and visually appealing brand identity.

The corporate identity materials, such as name cards, membership cards, folders, envelopes, and letterheads, are made using high-quality paper materials. Bright White Rives Dot is chosen for the items, while Plike Blue 200g is used for the name and membership cards, adding a touch of sophistication to the design.

The Water Funs corporate identity project started in July 2017, with designing and drafting completed by August. By November, all departments in the company had adopted the new design, giving the brand a refreshing and modern image.

Extensive research was conducted on local and overseas water products to ensure that the new design stands out in the market. The focus was on upgrading the brand's image and attracting younger consumers with its clean and minimalist style.

Shawn Goh Chin Siang's design for Water Funs' corporate identity has been recognized with the Iron A' Design Award in 2018. This award acknowledges the design's practicality, innovation, and adherence to professional and industrial requirements. By integrating industry best practices and competent technical characteristics, the design contributes to a better world.

With its refreshing and modern image, the Water Funs corporate identity successfully captures the brand's commitment to high-quality water products and its dedication to meeting consumer needs. This rebranding effort ensures that Water Funs remains a prominent player in the Malaysian market.
